Hotel Eco Arenal – A Favorite for Families in La Fortuna

Hotel Eco Arenal has open infrastructure that puts guests directly in contact with local wildlife along the river. The grounds contain a rushing stream where howler monkeys and toucans are regularly seen. Recycling bins are placed throughout the property for environmentally conscious guests.

Family rooms come with air-conditioning, private bathrooms, and a balcony overlooking the garden or pool. Each room has a TV, work desk, and wardrobe, plus a fridge and coffee maker. The shower in some rooms is a separate glass enclosure located inside the sleeping area.

The open-air restaurant serves a daily buffet breakfast with fresh local products and traditional Costa Rican dishes. Breakfast includes rice and beans, plantains, scrambled eggs, and empanadas, with fruit placed out to attract birds. The smokehouse across the street is the only walkable lunch and dinner option nearby.

The outdoor swimming pool includes a temperature-controlled section for children. Sun loungers and pool towels are provided at no extra charge. No on-site playground or children's programs are available, but the grounds offer space for exploration.

The hotel is 2 km from La Fortuna downtown and 8 km from La Fortuna Waterfall. A shuttle service and tour desk help guests book activities like kayak safaris and sky trek. Laundry service costs $4 per load, and free private parking is available on-site.
